Copy of a daguerreotype of Chief Oshkosh, seated and wearing a top hat and jacket. The photograph was made in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Biographical/Historical note:
Oshkosh (1795-1858) was Menominee chief and a prominent figure in 1930s and 1940s treaty negotiations between New York Indians and the United States.
